Jervis Bay Wild Asks: Have You Tried Boom Netting?

At Jervis Bay Wild, we are famous for our exciting cruises showcasing the amazing wildlife and spectacular scenery of New South Wales. Our whale watching, dolphin cruises, and more are all very popular options among locals and visitors alike. Cruising along the bay at any time of year, you can take in beautiful landscapes, spot fascinating marine and bird life, and simply enjoy a great day out on the water.

But perhaps you are looking for something a little different this summer school holiday season? Maybe you and the family are after a wetter, wilder ride for your next Jervis Bay adventure? Then let us suggest our summer boom netting tours!

Boom-whatting?

Every year, from November to April, Jervis Bay Wild offers our summer boom netting tours, and the December school holidays are the perfect time to give it a go. If you are not familiar with the concept, boom netting involves riding securely in a large net attached to the rear of the boat as we cruise through the waters of Jervis Bay. Our ample net can comfortably hold a sizeable group, so you and your friends and family can all have this unique experience together.

On your day out with us, you will enjoy time up on deck, and when the moment is right, you can move down into the boom net, positioned directly in the water. You are sure to get wet on this exciting ride as the waves surge past you, so hold on tight! Boom netting is a real adventure, and one that kids absolutely love.

In addition to the ride itself, you will learn about the history and cultural significance of Jervis Bay from our friendly, highly trained tour guides. You will see the towering sea cliffs at Point Perpendicular and cruise past some of the whitest, sandiest beaches in the world. Wildlife is abundant throughout the journey, and the resident bottlenose dolphins that call Jervis Bay home are certain to make an appearance. They may even race alongside you as you ride in the boom net, which is truly something special.

Ready? Set? Boom Net!

So what are you waiting for? Tours depart twice daily during the summer school holiday period, at 10:30am and 1:00pm from our wharf in Huskisson. Be sure to arrive 15 minutes early to secure your spot. Spots fill up fast over the December and January holidays, so we recommend booking online ahead of time. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We would love to see you out on the water this summer!
