What to Do in Jervis Bay With Kids

Jervis Bay is a wonderful destination for romantic getaways, backpacker trips, and girls’ weekends, but it may be the ultimate spot for a family holiday. With activities onshore and off, the Jervis Bay region offers so much for kids and their parents to enjoy. Your Jervis Bay to do list could fill days and days. How will you know where to best spend your time? We’ve got a few solutions. Here’s our top things to do in Jervis Bay with kids.

Stroll the White Sands Walk

This coastal path stretches for several km along the water’s edge. You’ll be treated with lovely ocean views as well as lush bushland. Grab a picnic, and head from Hyams Beach to the Greenfield Beach picnic area.

Camp in Booderee National Park

In Booderee National Park you’ll find some great beaches, bush walks, and camping spots that let you set up right near the ocean. Enjoy the natural beauty and abundant wildlife during the day, and listen to the gentle slapping of the waves at night.

Take a Dip in the Creek

Jervis Bay isn’t just about the sea. Inland is a serene spot called Moona Moona Creek which is absolutely perfect for families. The water is shallow and calm, which is great for young kids. Here you can do swimming, kayaking, and enjoy a picnic on the grassy shores.

Water Fun at the Nowra Aquatic Park

Kids love fun in the water and they love playgrounds: why not combine both? At Nowra Aquatic Park, this is exactly what you get. Swimming pools, water slides, fountains, and spray. Your whole family can have exciting and safe splishing and splashing here.

Climb High

A drive to Nowra will bring you to thrills in the tree tops. Trees Tops Adventure is a unique obstacle course set amongst the trees where you can test your balance and strength as you move through the course. Older kids will love this especially. Zip lining is available, too.

Interact with Wildlife (Safely!)

Want to see some Australian wildlife? While you’re likely to glimpse kangaroos and wallabies out in nature, you might have even more creatures in mind. Check out the Shoalhaven Zoo, home to over 100 species.

Paddle & Play The clear waters of Jervis Bay make it an ideal place for kayaking and paddling. You can join us for a guided kayaking adventure, taking you to all the best spots along the coast, or hire kayaks and stand up paddleboards to create your own adventure.

Zoom Through the Area with E Bike Hire

Huskisson is such a safe and cycle-friendly place. And with amazing weather, it’s the perfect place to go for a ride with the family. Hire some cycles with Jervis Bay E-Bike Hire and off you go. Don’t forget those helmets!
