See You Next Year, Whales!

November is winding down, and that means that here in Jervis Bay, we will slowly bid adieu to our friend, the noble Humpback. Our wonderful whale watching season extends May through September, and during this time, visitors to the region are fortunate enough to be able to spot these majestic creatures in our waters. But as the season begins to change, the whales move southward where they will feed and breed until next year’s migration begins. Until 2016, we say goodbye to the whales, but there are plenty of other options for enjoying Jervis Bay’s fantastic wildlife.

Dolphin Eco Cruise: Year Round

365 days each year you can find our crew out on the water, bringing excited guests around the spectacular bay in search of the energetic, happy bottlenose dolphins. And we’re never on the hunt for long: with more than 80 resident dolphins that live in the bay year-round, your eco cruise will likely be filled with sightings. We’d love to take you out in our vessel, the Port Venture, which is much beloved by the local dolphins as they enjoy racing alongside our bow at top speeds.

Seal Colony Eco Cruise: Year Round

Come see our glorious bay, towering sea cliffs, and imposing sea caves. This is adventure at its best. On your journey, we will stop by Drum & Drumsticks, where a colony of Australian fur seals can be found throughout the year. You’ll laugh as you watch the seal laze about on the rocks and glide gracefully through the water. Be sure to bring your camera to capture all the photo opportunities.

Summer Offerings

With summer on the horizon, you can take advantage of a few seasonal cruise options.

Our South Coast Passage, available September through April, is a lengthier cruise in an exciting rigid inflatable boat. Get closer to the water as you witness stunning scenery and multiple wildlife sightings.

If getting close to the water isn’t enough for you, feel free to get right in! We’ve got our Summer Boom Netting, perfect for those looking for an extra helping of excitement. As you ride securely behind our vessel in the large boom net with friends and family, you’ll laugh, smile, and will be certain to get wet. This is a great option for families, particularly during school holidays.

Lastly, our specialised Summer Eco Cruise is also available for our guests. This is an excellent 2 hour journey which takes you on a sweeping loop of Jervis Bay. The Summer Eco Cruise stops at all major points of interest along the way, providing the chance to see incredible scenery, spot our plentiful marine and birdlife, and enjoy all that the region has to offer.
