Which Eco Cruise Should I Take?

As a visitor to the lovely Jervis Bay region, it is easy to feel overwhelmed with the many things to do here. We’re well known for our outdoor activities and attractive beaches, and those on holiday may feel unsure about how to spend their limited time.

While there are countless ways to while away the hours in Jervis Bay, one experience truly not to be missed is an eco cruise giving you the chance to spot our local wildlife. Our Jervis Bay Wild team offers a range of cruise options that are each unique and sure to delight. But how do you choose which eco cruise to take? Here are some tips for choosing your own best adventure.

Make the Most of Each Season

The time of year in which you visit Jervis Bay will help to guide your choice of eco cruise. In the winter months, you’ll want to be sure not to miss the humpback whales, as they only come through the area for a short period. Their massive annual migration takes them right along the shores of New South Wales, and our whale watching tour gives you an amazing look at these magnificent creatures. From May through November, the whale eco cruise is a fascinating up-close-and-personal experience with the migrating humpbacks, and later on in the season, their young calves!

Our dolphin and seal eco tours run year round, which makes them an ideal option whenever you visit. But if you’re in Jervis Bay over the summer, why not consider our special summer eco cruise or our twilight eco tour, both of which are only available in the warmer months. You’ll still have a great opportunity to glimpse dolphins and other animals, but your cruise will boast that something extra.

What Kind of Experience are You Seeking?

Another way to answer the question of “which eco cruise should I take,” is to examine what you are hoping to experience during your tour. Are you a family travelling with children? The dolphin eco tour is just the right length of time and may provide the most thrills and laughs for the young ones. On holiday as a couple? Your romantic getaway may be enhanced by our stunning twilight eco cruise or our more adventure-filled and extensive South Coast Passage (running September through April). Deciding what you want out of your experience can help you narrow down the choices…and if you need help making your decision, you can always give our team a call for more details!

Do You Have a Favourite Animal?

These eco cruises are ALL about the wildlife. Is there a particular marine creature that you (or your children) are simply dying to see? If so, you have a clear answer as to which eco cruise to select. If there’s a species you want to be sure not to miss, choose the appropriate eco cruise. It is helpful to note that you have a fair chance of seeing dolphins and other wildlife on nearly all eco cruises, but will likely only see Australian fur seals on the seal eco cruise, for example. Wildlife are unpredictable, and you never know what exciting creature just might swim or fly by.

Want to chat more about your options? We’re happy to help! We’ve also got plenty of information on our website, so feel free to have a poke around. We can’t wait to see you in Jervis Bay soon, where we’ll make amazing eco cruise memories!
