Ah, romance. It can be found in nearly any destination, but some places are inherently more romantic than others. The Jervis Bay region is one such place. With glorious nature and a peaceful feeling, Huskisson and the surrounding towns invite passion and affection. There are plenty of things to do as a couple in Jervis Bay to help you ignite that spark (or simply keep the flame burning). Here are a few of our favourites.

Explore the Cape St. George Lighthouse together

The Cape St. George Lighthouse was once an important fixture along the coastline, but was replaced by the lighthouse on Point Perpendicular in 1898. Today, it’s a fascinating ruin to visit, and the views out over the cliffs toward the sea are remarkable. Stepping back in time together is undoubtedly quite romantic.

Take a lovers’ stroll on the White Sands Walk

This coastal path takes you the perfect distance along the water’s edge. There’s plenty of bush and trees to instill a sense of privacy and intimacy and make you feel like the only two people on earth. As you go, keep your eye out for wildlife sightings and glimpses of the aquamarine seas.

Sip wine in the Shoalhaven

Head a bit out of the Jervis Bay area and into the Shoalhaven where wineries abound. Nothing says romance like wine tasting. Pop into places like Two Figs and Coolangatta Estate to sample the finest varietals. Take a bottle of your favourite back to the hotel for later.

Cuddle at the cinema

Rainy day got you down? While we’re used to sunny days here in NSW, the occasional gray clouds do pass through. When this happens, grab your partner and catch a flick at the Huskisson Cinema. It’s a charming, historic building in the town centre offering fun films. You can hold hands, share popcorn, and get some cuddles in.

Sunbathe, relax, and nap on one of the area’s fine beaches

You can’t travel to Jervis Bay without spending time on our fabulous beaches. Spots such as Hyams Beach and Chinamans Beach boast shining white sand and calm, inviting waters. Take a picnic and enjoy some fresh fruit by the gentle waves. Then, wade out for a swim in the refreshing bay waters.

Plan for a candlelit meal at one of the many delicious local restaurants

It’s a classic date night activity, but dining out together is undeniably a romantic choice. When it comes to restaurants in Huskisson and Jervis Bay, the options are many. Consider the rustic, yet elegant Paperbark Camp, the Asian-infused Wild Ginger, or the laid back Pilgrims (a great vegetarian choice). We also have our own cafe here at the Jervis Bay Wild headquarters, to keep you fed and watered before your eco cruise. Speaking of….

Take a romantic private cruise in Jervis Bay

We’ve got a wide range of eco cruises you could choose from, but why not treat your beloved to something extraordinary? Our private tours will be just what you’re looking for. A cruise on one of our vessels, just the two of you (and crew, of course), plus some champagne and treats: it adds up to an utterly romantic evening. Catch a sunset out over the water and relax as we sail you off into happiness.

Romance is to be found around every corner in Jervis Bay. Where will you find it?
