Here in Jervis Bay, we are fortunate enough to be blessed with crystal clear water, white sand and enough beaches so they never feel crowded. Add to that all the other natural wonders including an abundance of marine life and unspoilt bushland and it’s unlikely you’ll ever be short on things to do! However, if you’re looking to try something new this year, why not check out one of these local events.

Huskisson Carnival

Now in its 46th year, the Huskisson Carnival attracts locals and visitors from all over the Shoalhaven. There are rides to suit all ages with options to purchase an unlimited daily pass, a season pass or tickets for individual rides. Free family entertainments and food stalls are also staples of the Husky carnival. Running until the 27th of January, the Huskisson Carnival is open every day from 6pm – 10pm (ticket box open from 5pm). Entry is free and coupons for rides can be purchased at the carnival. Find it at Huskisson Playing Fields Tomerong Street, Huskisson.

Nowra Triathlon

Only one week to go until the Nowra Triathlon kicks off on the banks of the Shoalhaven River. The course is fast and flat with a range of distances including:

  • Standard (1.5km swim, 40km bike and 10km run)
  • Sprint (750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run)
  • Super Sprint (200m swim, 7.5km bike and 2km run and perfect for beginners)

There’s still time to register or plan your visit to Nowra. The best place to check out all the action is at the reserve on Riverview Road beside the Shoalhaven River.

Huskisson Pictures

Looking for something to do on a rainy day? Huskisson Pictures is located in a beautiful historic building that has been used as a church, school, dance & concert venue, library and public hall since it was built in 1913. Open every day during the school holidays, Husky Pictures screens all the latest movies at reasonable prices. Check out session times or book your ticket (advisable during peak periods).
