Jervis Bay is a great place to be as the weather turns warmer and the holidays approach. Summer is one of the best times in which to visit this jewel of the South Coast, and there are countless things to do and see while in the area. As the warmest season of the year fast approaches, we’d like to take a moment to share with you some of the wonderful things Jervis Bay has to offer.
Spectacular Outdoors
A visit to Jervis Bay is all about getting outside. Whether you head out on the water with us during one of our fantastic eco cruises, or you choose to head inland and explore our local flora and fauna, there is something for everyone to love about this region’s nature.
We are proud of our area’s incredible beaches, with the whitest, softest sand stretching out into brilliant turquoise waters. Get out early to knab a spot on our best beaches (such as Hyams Beach), and then try some leisurely bushwalking. Booderee National Park is a great option for both of these activities. Excellent trails are found in the park such as Telegraph Creek Nature Trail or the nearby White Sands Beach Walk, which traverses the coastline. There is also the Wreck Walk in Currarong at Abraham’s Bosom Reserve.
Get to Know Local Businesses
You’re bound to work up an appetite as you explore Jervis Bay’s quaint little towns and adventuresome nature. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in the region, particularly in Huskisson. After a delicious coffee or a bite to eat, why not peruse our local shops and businesses? There is plenty of shopping to be done and regional history to be enjoyed.
Take Advantage of the Water
You can’t visit Jervis Bay without celebrating the bay itself. The oceans along the coastline here simply beckon and you’d do well to heed their call! Swimming and snorkelling are highly popular activities in the area, and there are plenty of options for trying out a range of watersports. At Jervis Bay Wild, we offer our exciting kayaking tours, which allow you the chance to sea spectacular sea cliffs and perhaps even get up close and personal with our resident dolphins, fur seals, and other marine life.
